About the Apprentice Program

Refugees-Turned-to-Leaders

At Asha’s Refuge, we don’t just provide job training—we provide purpose. Our apprentices serve the community through interpreting, driving, administrative support, and client care while developing real-world experience and deep confidence.

Many of our apprentices have experienced trauma, displacement, and long breaks in education. They are learning English, adapting to a new culture, and rebuilding their lives with strength and courage.

Our Apprentice Program is the heart of Asha’s Refuge, offering 10–40 hours a week of paid training, mentoring, and skill-building that prepares refugees and lawfully present newcomers for jobs with us or in the wider community. It’s a ripple of hope: those who once arrived as refugees now guide and support the newest arrivals. Every hour you fund covers wages, mentorship, tools, and transportation — turning survival into stability.
