Businesses, schools and nonprofits all over are prayerfully considering how to continue their services well within the confinement of the current quarantine and reduced income flow. Having ample people to serve and finance programs and services is certainly a challenge for many. We are living in a time when local nonprofits are needed the most. Yet, people are afraid to give back with understandable uncertainties shadowing them. This is a tough time where we may not be able to be physically together, but we can be emotionally supportive and together.
Asha’s is working hard to collect some produce, mostly nonperishable food items (beans, rice, pasta), seeds for planting, diapers and wipes, cleaning products and toiletries. These donations can be dropped off in Germantown, Memphis, Collierville and Olive Branch. Contact us at serve@ashasrefuge.org to get the details on a location nearest you.
Support for our clients is NOT just about physical food and passing out “stuff.” Asha’s is working with a small staff to provide online classes, family and immigration services, mentorship and advocacy as well as working to make deliveries of items. We very much need financial support to organize projects and continue as we are. Please, let’s not neglect giving during this time when our community needs us the most. Asha’s Refuge has always worked on a tight budget and our budget has just gotten much tighter causing us to evaluate just how much longer we can continue with little funds enabling us to do so. We have cut back about as much as we can. We are praying for our community of businesses, churches, nonprofits and families during this strange season. Please pray for us, talk to your connections, and consider giving as the Lord may so lead you. Here are our giving links:
